Un proyecto multimedia/A multimedia project
El proyecto Los Ritmos de mi Comunidad/The Rhythms of My Community conecta a niños de Estados Unidos y Costa Rica con el poder de la música, la danza, la lectura y la escritura, a través de una serie de talleres en las escuelas, materiales digitales educativos y el libro infantil bilingüe.
Este proyecto es el resultado de una alianza educativa entre Carretica Cuentera, de Costa Rica, y Community in Motion (ComMotion), de Estados Unidos, a través del encuentro de ambas organizaciones en el programa Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI): un intercambio patrocinado por la Oficina de Asuntos Educativos y Culturales (ECA) del Departamento de Esta- do de los Estados Unidos de América.
El proceso para este proyecto inició en enero pasado (2021) y durante diez meses ambas organizaciones hemos compartido juntos talleres virtuales sobre baile y narración de historias para construir esta nueva estrategia educativa que integra disciplinas creativas para motivar a estudiantes y profesores de Estados Unidos y Costa Rica.

“Los Ritmos de mi Comunidad/The Rhythms of My Community” connects children from the United States and Costa Rica with the power of music, dance, reading and writing through a series of in-school workshops, digital educational materials and a bilingual children’s book.
This project is the result of an educational alliance between Carretica Cuentera, from Costa Rica, and Community in Motion (ComMotion), from the United States, through the meeting of both organizations in the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) program: an exchange sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State.
The process for this project began last January (2021) and during ten months both organizations have shared together virtual workshops on dance and storytelling to build this new educational strategy that integrates creative disciplines to motivate students and teachers from the United States and Costa Rica.
